Eric G. Mueller, CPA
It was sometime during the bull market of the late 1990s that I attended a seminar put on by some stock picking “wizard.” I left the seminar thinking, if it’s that simple, I should be able to make a lot of money. And yet, I knew it couldn’t be that simple – but my interest in investments was born. Fast forward to the summer of 2000, as the tech bubble is bursting, I received an award for “best long-term portfolio” during a program I attended as a senior in high school. The portfolio was diversified – somewhat, but it did not fare too well in the subsequent crash years. Nonetheless, I had learned a few basics about what investing in U.S. equities entailed. Fast forward again and my investment management class as a graduate student was fairly straightforward. And yet, I could see others did not grasp basic investment concepts as readily. Thus, helping others master these basic principles of investments has become something I enjoy doing professionally and personally.
My route to Integris began in the Private Client Advisors group at Deloitte Tax in Chicago. There I focused on serving high net worth Individuals’ tax and investment needs and became a Certified Public Accountant. Later I worked as an investment analyst for G.P. Brinson Investments, LLC, where my experiences were instrumental in building a solid foundation of investment management skills. Upon returning to California’s Central Coast in 2013, I joined a local accounting firm and assisted clients with their tax planning needs. After spending over two years in that role, I decided to focus on my interest in investments and wealth management by joining Integris, which I was attracted to because of their quality and clarity of thought.
I am a “Double Domer,” receiving both my B.B.A. and a M.S. in Accountancy from the University of Notre Dame. A licensed CPA in California and Illinois, I am also a member of the AICPA, CalCPA, and ICPAS.
Continuing the theme of many of my Integris colleagues, I am actively involved in local community service, serving on multiple committees for local non-profits.
Outside the office, I enjoy spending time with my wife and young son. When I have some spare time, you can find me reading or on the golf course.
