Michael Leavy, CFA
I believe that one of the most important attributes in working with clients is an ability to withhold judgment. It is my clients’ values and choices, not mine, that are most important in crafting a financial plan. I am married with three daughters, and we are a blended family; if there is any experience that challenges the ability to withhold judgment and stay focused on everyone else’s goals and values, it is the experience of being a parent in a blended family.
I began my career in 1986 in San Francisco as a financial analyst and portfolio manager for corporations and institutional investment management firms. In 2004 I joined Giff at Integris and became a partner in 2006. As the firm’s Chief Investment Officer I focus on the investment process and financial modeling and analysis.
My education includes a B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and I have been a holder of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation since 1991. I am also a member of the CFA Institute and Security Analysts of San Francisco.
I believe strongly in the value of community service, and am a founder and board member of Harmony at Home, a board member of Monterey County Legal Services for Seniors, and on the Investment Committee for the Hospice Foundation.
