Team Spotlight: Amy Weinberg
We hope you enjoy getting to know Integris Team Member Amy Weinberg a bit more from a recent sit down we had with her.
During the day, Amy is a Senior Client Service Associate Advisor at Integris. She works closely with the firm’s Advisors to provide operational support to our clients. When we asked about a memorable childhood experience, Amy talked about working in her father’s collectible stamp shop, pouring coffee and passing out pastries during stamp auctions. She and her sister would receive tip money, which her mom would deposit into each of their savings accounts. She was very young, maybe age 6, so this taught her the importance of saving at a very young age. It was a valuable lesson that she still puts into practice today, as well as the early lessons learned from this experience of a good work ethic and the expectation that you can help, regardless of your age.
When discussing what she enjoys doing outside of Integris, Amy said spending time with her son Emmett is her favorite thing. When she has the rare occasion for additional free time, she likes to garden, go to antique shops, walk her dog Norman, paint with acrylics, hike, and play card & board games.
As for her bucket list, Amy would like to spend a few months traveling Europe by train. She specifically wants to spend time exploring Italy, Switzerland, France, Spain and Portugal.
To really see into someone’s soul you have to find out about their favorite forms of food and entertainment, which for Amy are:
Movies: Walk the Line, Good Will Hunting, Rear Window and It’s a Wonderful Life
TV Series: She doesn’t have a favorite, but is currently watching A LOT of Miss Rachel…
Food: Japanese cuisine
Book: Wild by Cheryl Strayed. She also reads a lot of Dr. Seuss to her son, which she is enjoying more as an adult because she can appreciate the creativity and complexity of his writing, plus some are tongue-twisters and are a fun challenge to reach out loud!
We asked about a funny quirk of Amy’s and she said she enjoys cleaning her house late at night.
In parting, we asked Amy for one piece of advice she would pass along, and she said, “Save as much as you can and start as early as possible. You want your money to eventually work for you, so you need time and patience for it to grow.”
