National Philanthropy Day 2025

In honor of National Philanthropy Day, Integris is excited to announce that we have donated to three non-profit organizations selected by our employees.

Originally conceptualized and organized by Douglas Freeman in the 1980’s, this holiday was declared a national holiday by President Reagan in 1986 to recognize the great charitable contributions made by citizens that have an impact on communities.

This year, the Integris team has selected the following charities to thank for their daily impact on the endless needs of those they serve:

Monterey County Food Bank

Serving over 160,000 residents each month in Monterey County, the Monterey County Food Bank’s mission is to end hunger in Monterey County. The Monterey County Food Bank serves as a central ‘hub’ providing high quality food, fresh produce, and educational & nutritional resources to their non-profit member network of 160 partner organizations. Their vision is to transform Monterey County from one of the hungriest to one of the healthiest counties in all of California.

Thanks to the Community Foundation for Monterey County’s program, Monterey County Gives!, our gift to help end local food insecurity was boosted!

Save Sight Now

Children with Usher Syndrome Type 1B are born deaf, without balance, and begin losing their vision in early childhood. Save Sight Now is a parent-led nonprofit organization whose primary goal is identifying and funding promising research that can benefit those living with progressive blindness due to Usher Syndrome Type 1B. With their mission to save thousands of children from going blind, Save Sight Now is a small, but mighty force accelerating treatments for one of the leading causes of childhood deaf-blindness.

Thanks to their jumpstart matching program, our gift to help fund life-changing research was doubled!

Dorothy’s Kitchen of Dorothy’s Place

For over 35 years, Dorothy’s Kitchen has served 2 made-from-scratch meals a day, every day, with compassion and love. They are a full service, commercial kitchen using fresh ingredients donated from farms and ranchers in the area. Operated by the Franciscan Workers of Junipero Serra, Dorothy’s Kitchen is dedicated to serving about 400 meals a day to people who experience homelessness, poverty, and marginalization in Monterey County.

Beyond gifts of financial support, National Philanthropy Day gives us all an opportunity to reflect on the meaning of giving and what more still needs to be done. Integris is grateful to know that many of our clients and colleagues are philanthropic warriors who quietly volunteer their time, expertise, and financial resources to enhance our communities.

As we celebrate the spirit of generosity, our contributions remind us that philanthropy isn’t just a day on the calendar – it’s a reaffirmation of our commitment to creating a positive impact in the community we serve. Happy National Philanthropy Day!
