Team Spotlight: Kay Oh

We hope you enjoy getting to know Integris Team Member Kay Oh a bit more from a recent sit down we had with her.

During the day, Kay is a Paraplanner and a member of the marketing team at Integris. In her Paraplanning work, she supports advisors by preparing detailed financial plans and conducting in‑depth research. On the marketing side, she helps shape the firm’s voice through thoughtful newsletter contributions, coordinating client‑focused events like webinars, and supporting a range of initiatives that enhance our online presence.

When asked about a memorable childhood experience, Kay said, “Growing up, I watched my dad carefully save every receipt and sit down once a month to calculate our household budget. It wasn’t dramatic or complicated – but it was consistent. Most of the time, it looked like pieces of paper casually thrown into plastic bag and a calculator in the dining room. Looking back, I realized those diligent routines were teaching me something: that paying attention to the details, tracking where money goes, and checking in regularly are what creates the most opportunities for saving overtime. That lesson still shapes how I approach my own personal finances today.” It’s a memory that continues to remind her that small, steady habits can shape an entire financial mindset.

When discussing what she enjoys doing outside of Integris, Kay said she enjoys activities that keep her curious. She is currently studying American Sign Language to better connect with the Deaf community, and she has come to love how visually rich and complex ASL is – from the finger signs to the use of facial expressions and body language to convey meaning. She is also an avid podcast listener and is currently enjoying topics focused on motherhood and health.

As for her bucket list, Kay hopes to take cooking classes in Korean, Chinese, and Italian cuisine — and one day, she dreams of traveling to Iceland to witness the Northern Lights.

To really see into someone’s soul you have to find out about their favorite forms of food and entertainment, which for Kay are:

Favorite movies: Slumdog Millionaire, the Rush Hour series, and Pride and Prejudice
TV series: Netflix’s Crash Landing on You, Mr. Sunshine, and Queen’s Gambit
Music: I enjoy coffee shop playlists, a little bit of country, and soundtracks from movies or tv series.
Food: I love anything noodles.
Book: The Martha Stewart Living cookbook, and Red Notice by Bill Browder are my most recent favorites.
Sports team: I don’t watch a lot of team sports, but I enjoy watching diving, ice skating, gymnastics, swimming, and snowboarding when I watch the Olympics.

We asked Kay about a funny personal quirk, and she admitted that she enjoys eating her cereal with milk and ice cubes, which sounds quite refreshing!

In parting, we asked Kay for one piece of advice she’d like to leave us with. She shared one of her favorite Warren Buffett quotes: “Do not save what is left after spending, but spend what is left after saving.”
