Meet the 2025-2026 Integris Scholarship Recipients

At Integris, we believe education has a transformational power to help students discover a field of interest, improve career prospects, and increase income potential. The Integris Wealth Management Scholarship Fund was created to support the next generation of financial planners in Monterey County and provide qualified students with financial assistance for their tuition while enrolled in the Financial Planning Track at CSUMB.

Each year, two undergraduate student applicants are hand-selected by the professors at the CSUMB College of Business to receive the scholarship. We are proud to announce the 2025-2026 Integris Scholarship recipients and are especially excited to share each of their stories.

Hannah Gibson

As a senior majoring in Business Administration at CSUMB, Hannah Gibson’s had her interest piqued in financial planning during her sophomore year after listening to a financial advisor’s presentation during a classroom speaker panel.

When asked how she chose her major, Hannah said, “Out of everything else, the financial planning concentration seemed the most fascinating. It’s something I believe I can do and it’s something I can be passionate about.” Hannah recalled the moment when she learned she was awarded the Integris Scholarship and said, “When I received the email from Lesli Boni, I kept re-reading it to make sure it was real. The scholarship made me realize that my work is being recognized, and it feels good to know that I must be doing something right.”

Outside of her full-time studies, Hannah also has a job to help fund her education and is an active participant in CSUMB’s Diamond Key Professional Development Program.

Hugo Gutierrez

Hugo Gutierrez is a senior at CSUMB majoring in Business Administration. When asked about his experience in the financial planning concentration, Hugo shared that he has enjoyed working in Excel and even considers himself a “numbers nerd” because of his love for math. He noted that his investments class has been his favorite, saying, “It’s challenged me the most but showed me what to expect in the field.”

In addition to being a full-time student, Hugo works three jobs, actively participates in the CSUMB Diamond Key Professional Development program, and serves as a volunteer at the CSUMB Financial Wellness Center. He is also passionate about volunteering with CSUMB’s Basic Needs Initiative where associated students help coordinate the Food Pantry and other resources to support students.

Hugo added that he is grateful for the Integris scholarship, which alleviates some of the pressure of working three jobs and allows him to focus on completing the financial planning capstone. For his future endeavors, Hugo hopes to pass both the Series 65 (Uniform Investment Adviser Law Exam) and the CFP® exam.

Congratulations Hannah and Hugo!

We are honored to have you as our scholarship recipients and wish you success in your studies this year.
